SIGNAL / The field-service diagnostic

A six-week diagnostic.
A decision you can defend.

Find the causes behind service losses, quantify the value of changing them and decide where AI belongs in the plan. Cosmic AI extends the analysis; our field-service leads direct the work.

The time your team gives us

Focused access, while the operation keeps running.

We observe selected jobs and dispatch routines, and arrange interviews around service commitments. Before starting, we agree which people are involved, the time needed from each and the field visits.

  • At the startExisting exports, one data contact and a kickoff.
  • Weeks 2–4Typically 6–10 stakeholder interviews in total, spread across the three weeks.
  • Week 2Agreed ride-alongs and observations at the sites in scope.
  • Week 6One executive review to challenge the findings and decide what comes next.

A separate SIGNAL deliverable

AI Opportunity Map

Drafted in week 5 · Delivered in week 6

Know what to pursue now, what to prepare next and what should wait.

You receive a prioritised assessment of AI opportunities, tied to the operational causes and the value of changing them. Each priority explains the evidence, prerequisites and effort behind the recommendation.

  1. Now

A supported case and the foundations to act.

  2. Next

An opportunity with prerequisites to put in place.

  3. Not yet

The value, evidence or readiness does not justify moving ahead.

Value

The operating loss it addresses and how improvement becomes value.

Readiness

Usable data, system connections, people and a place in the workflow.

Effort & dependencies

What needs to change first, and what implementation would involve.

Existing-system and process changes are assessed alongside AI. The recommendation follows the evidence.

Before we start

Clear boundaries.
Useful answers.

SIGNAL covers a defined operation and question. More complex, multi-business-unit diagnostics need a tailored schedule.

Do we need new software or integrations?

No system replacement or integration is needed for the diagnostic. We start from existing exports, then establish which analyses the available evidence supports.

What if the data is incomplete?

We identify gaps and their consequences at the start. Findings show their limits; missing evidence is not presented as certainty. Where necessary, we agree a narrower question or additional data collection.

How is our operational data used?

Before records are shared, we agree the diagnostic’s data terms in writing: which records are needed, permitted uses, processing tools, access, confidentiality and retention. The website privacy policy describes website and booking data; the diagnostic has its own agreed terms.

Are we committing to implementation?

No. The findings, business case, AI Opportunity Map and roadmap stand on their own. Implementation is a separate decision after the evidence is in place.

Is this the right starting point?

A good fit

A persistent problem crosses teams or systems. You have operational records, access to the field and a sponsor who wants to make a decision.

A different starting point

An urgent incident needs immediate action, the solution has already been selected, or there is no access to records or the people doing the work.
